Blockchains, cryptography, and distributed systems make it possible to verify how value moves and what software—including autonomous agents—actually does. They replace reliance on a single intermediary with independently checkable evidence.
This changes what can be built: financial systems with programmable controls, privacy-preserving applications, and software that can coordinate across networks and organizations.
To get there, the underlying infrastructure still has to improve by orders of magnitude. Equilibrium does that work in two ways:
- Researching and building systems of our own, some of which we incubate and spin out as independent companies. Zenith (the EVM layer of Canton) and Membrane Finance (issuer of the EUROe stablecoin, acquired by Paxos) are recent examples.
- Partnering with founders and engineering teams on complex systems—from early research and architecture through production and long-term operation.
